A Lovely Gift for Your Mum Would Be Some Jewellery

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s time for all the children to take a minute out and think about what to buy their mum.

Sadly my mum passed away a few years ago, so it’s something I don’t have to think about, but I have 2 kids of my own and they always buy me a little present. I also have to get something for my husband’s mum as he doesn’t have a clue and would probably end up at the last minute getting her a bunch of flowers from the local garage!!

From a personal point of view I’m especially keen on silver rings and have quite a large collection.  It doesn’t have to be expensive, just a style that I like. I am just as delighted with a ring from a high street chain as an expensive jewellers because to me it’s not about how much the ring cost, but that they actually thought to get me something.

Funnily enough last year they both gave me silver earrings. For children I will say that they have pretty good tastes in ladies jewellery, so this must have rubbed off from my influence.

The same can’t be said for the presents they got for their dad on Father’s Day last year.  They both chose men’s jewellery for him, and in all honesty neither piece was something my husband would wear. You never know, perhaps this year they might get him some tools he could use around the house – that would definitely keep him happy.  If it was something to do with his precious golf clubs he would be even happier. I have never met somebody who is as keen on their sport as my husband.  My other half is out playing golf in all weathers, in fact the only time he doesn’t go out is when it is thunder and lightning and the golf course is shut.

With all that in mind I have better make sure he hasn’t planned a golf game for Mother’s Day.   The kids may stretch to getting me a present, but hubby is the one who makes sure I get a cooked breakfast, no way would I let the kids loose in the kitchen.
