Contemporary Bedroom Decor Makeover
We all enjoy our bedroom and it is true to say that we all secretly yearn for a nicer bedroom, one that is more than just a place to sleep so remodeling the master bedroom can be very rewarding. As the bedroom has become a place for other functions besides sleeping, like reading or relaxing for example, many people have seen the advantages of making this a special place in the home. Some Europeans believe the bedroom should be a place where a sensual atmosphere is the one to aim for and this approach is gradually being adopted by Americans as well.
The main aspect of change if you remodel your master bedroom in to a more sensual place is the color scheme and you can achieve this by using shades of red, cream and peach. Candles are also useful but they need mirrors to enhance the reflections or you can add plants which will also provide the same effect. More people prefer the master bedroom to be a place where they can relax with a good book whether on the bed or in a comfy chair placed near the bed or a window to provide views.
The only other thing you will need to add is sufficient light to read by which could always be a reading lamp on a table next to the chair but make sure the lighting is not to strong or it will spoil the effect. Traditionally to achieve the best effect in a room for reading in you should look towards the softer shades of ivory, amber and slate blue. There are those individuals that view a bedroom as a kind of place to go to get away from everyone else so if you are remodeling your master bedroom to provide this style look to add big pillows and cushions and perhaps the odd landscape painting.
If you add the comfortable chair and a standing lamp then you will have a retreat that also doubles as a reading room. Normally remodeling a master bedroom that is to serve this purpose will have picture frames placed strategically around with family or friends displayed in them. Colors that work well in private sanctuaries include navy or cobalt blues, deep chocolates, and forest greens as darker colors create a womb or cave like feeling and aid deep sleep.
Often people who like to read also enjoy writing and a small bureau can be extremely effective as can something to listen to your favorite music on but obviously this depends on the space you have available. It is not uncommon to place concealed fridges either in addition to tea or coffee making facilities which almost provide the feel of a quality hotel suite. If you have a busy home then remodeling your bedroom into a place where you can disappear for a while to enjoy some peace and relaxation is not such a bad idea.
