Different Types of Baby Monitors and How to Compare Them
It is wise to take your time and do a lot of comparing of baby monitors before you buy one. The reason is that this monitor will insure that your baby is safe while also saving you a lot of time
The monitor that I prefer is the audio monitor because we can hear our baby, virtually any noise, and that will alert us. It comes in both an analog and a digital version, and I prefer analog because it is the lowest cost.
On the other hand, the digital model may cost a little more but it provides more privacy and usually has a wider range of reception than analog. Another advantage is that the digital models do not have as much static and they give a clearer sound quality so you can hear your baby better.
Video monitors allow you to see and hear your child by combining sound and video just like miniature TV sets. They use a small camera either mounted on the wall, table or crib to transmit the images into the LCD display. They are usually portable and come with multiple cameras and even night vision.
If you want to sense your baby's movements, then a sensory baby monitor is for you. It actually goes under the baby mattress and will send a signal when baby stops moving for a number of seconds, normally around 20 seconds. Often there are models that also have an audio capability also.
Always remember, that in choosing the type of baby monitor for your family you must reflect on which model would best suit you and your baby's needs. The size of your home, and the clarity of frequency are very important factors to consider.
I always recommend to buy the highest quality baby monitor that you can find that has been rated by Consumer Reports and his the longest signal, since the signal is what is going to alert you. You cannot afford to cut corners when buying a baby monitor.
When chosing a baby monitor make sure that the sound and video clarity is the best. Most stores will allow you to test the monitor, or bring it home and test it, and if it is not good quality and clear transmission, then return the baby monitor.
