He is the one youre going to want to call at three in the morning. Not that your husband cant do it himself, but why take the chance of not having hot water for days and days.

If you have children, it is especially important to have hot water. If you have an infant, it is seriously important to have hot water for sterilization. If your hot water heater is broken, dont wait till the next day to get it fixed, get it fixed now. Call a 24 hour plumber.

The rule of thumb for billing in a 24 hour plumbing emergency is that you pay a lot for your convenience. Most 24 hour plumbers will charge you hourly but not at the normal daily rate. They will usually charge double the normal rate for emergencies during the weekday, and triple rate for emergencies during the weekends. Even if the emergency is fixed within an hour, he will still charge you for an hour, minimum.
